Since the Winter Meetings have started the biggest names being mentioned have been Sabathia, Burnett, and Teixeira. The one name that has been relatively silent is Manny Ramirez, and have we forgotten that he almost single handedly got the Dodgers into the playoffs with his .396 batting average, .489 OBP and ridiculous .743 slugging percentage while hitting 17 home runs and 53 RBI. The only team that has even shown interest for the slugger is the Dodgers, but with Manny’s age soon becoming a factor into his defensive abilities, which have always been a question, he almost has to go back to the American League. The only problem of signing this slugger is which Manny is the team going to sign? They will either get the leader of the club, one who follows the rules and doesn’t say things to get him into trouble, or he will be the kind of problem that the Red Sox had. For the best clutch hitter, I don’t think it matters, if you want to win sign him to the deal he deserves.
